Sue Ann Rainey
September 2023
Sue Ann, may be known to many as energetic, (referred to as the “Energy Bunny” by some), full of new and innovative ideas, creative, and often working on a new project. She takes advantage of exploring and capturing sites throughout Bucks County and the greater area with either her camera or a paintbrush. Each time the Artsbridge board meets, we learn yet another title that Sue Ann has earned. Painter, Photographer, Head Baker, Pastry Chef, Author of her own cookbooks, Graphic Artist, and Farmer, are among the titles we’re aware of. I’m sure we’ll learn more. If Sue Ann is not painting, capturing peaceful scenes in photography, cooking, and exploring small-town venues, she may be found at her farm in Bucks County, PA. It’s at this peaceful location that she and her husband’s three horses roam and where they nurture and harvest an assortment of fruits and vegetables from their gardens.
Sue Ann’s appreciation for beauty in nature, homegrown foods, baked goods, and the community she lives in is evident in the way she lives her life. Social media posts by Sue Ann not only share the news of galleries and venues her artwork is showing, but they also display beautiful locations and community events she visits; often several a day. (After decades of living in this area, I have benefited from her beautifully photographed posts which allow me to discover new locations). Also seen in her posts are her watercolor paintings that depict local landscapes, farms, reflections, and man-made bridges that adorn the Delaware River and local canals. Her artwork brings new perspectives to these familiar scenes. In her photographs, special effects create mirror images or capture vivid colors that allow us to take in our own tranquil feelings.
