Summer 2024 Robin Crowley
Robin Crowley, a long-time resident of Doylestown, PA, has established herself as a skilled artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University, specializing in painting and drawing. While previously focused on soft pastels, Robin recently delved into the intricate world of egg tempera painting. Her interest in this traditional medium, where powdered pigments are mixed with egg yolk, ignited a new passion. Embracing the meticulous process of color mixing, she incorporates her expertise in soft pastels. Despite the labor-intensive nature of egg tempera, Robin finds the end result—a subtly-hued, radiant finish—well worth the dedication. This technique offers her a precise means of artistic expression, juxtaposed against the organic charm of working with pastels. Robin's artistic repertoire encompasses a diverse range of subjects, including portraiture, landscapes, architecture, life drawing, and intricate crowd scenes. Her artworks have graced many local juried exhibitions, garnering accolades and recognition for their quality. Actively involved in the artistic community, Robin is a member of esteemed organizations such as the Pastel Society of America, Philadelphia Sketch Club, and Artsbridge, alongside holding a board position at the Doylestown Art League. She contributes to the league's publicity efforts and the Student Awards Program. To explore Robin's captivating work further, visit her portfolio at: www.flickr.com/photos/rcrowley31
